You are an athlete! Really you are... if you have a body and you use it, then you're an athlete. Sure, you might imagine that to swim a couple miles in the ocean, or ride a bike for 100 miles, and run a marathon takes a special kind of person, and to do all three in the same day takes a special kind of crazy... but the truth is, if you have a body you can do it.

A couple years ago, Karl McCracken would have told you it would be crazy to attempt an Ironman... he'd say, he loves to ride his bike, and he's a pretty good runner... and he knows how to not drown in the pool... but that's good enough for a couple sprint triathlons, he'd never attempt an Ironman. Well... those days are gone... now he's an Ironman. And if there's one thing we can learn from his story, it's that you have to believe in yourself to finish an Ironman... and it doesn't hurt to have a wonderful family cheering you on!

Read about his recent Ironman France race.

Race Report: 5 mile Lake Triathlon

Whew! I huge sigh of relief, as this race went better than I could possibly expect, especially since I was a bit nervous about it. I went down the night before to pick up my race packet and stay the night at my younger brother’s house, who lives about 15 mins drive from the race. When Read More »

Finding Joy

Al and Tipper Gore announced they are getting a divorce.  There doesn’t appear to be any infidelity, they just grew apart.  It seems to be a common issue with most if not all married couples who are approaching or are at that third stage of their lives - the post kids stage. Wrapping it up

Avatar for mistahsinclair

Today is my last day in LA for a few weeks and was generally spent packing my suitcase and making sure I have everything I need in order. Once I got to the point where I was pretty much done (similar state to I am now) with only the last few things standing out - toiletries etc. I ... Read More »
