Weekend for Wounded Warriors

No, this isn’t an article about Wounded Weekend Warriors, this is an article about the great athletic and personal accomplishments of our Wounded Warriors. This weekend several dedicated service personnel who have been wounded in battle are demonstrating their true courage and determination by completing the Third Annual White House to Light House Wounded Warrior Soldiers Ride. Yes, You ARE an Athlete!

I have a confession to make: I am not comfortable around jocks. I have a horrible body image. I don’t feel like I’m fit enough to hang out with “real athletes”. When I look in the mirror I still see that fat kid, and I still feel like I’m not supposed to be “in the race” or “in the weight room” or “working out”. Yes, a four time marathoner, three time double-century cyclist, and two time Ironman, I still wonder if I am an athlete. Read More »
