About:

cmschirato31

My goals are: To run as much as I can and work toward my ultimate goal of running a full marathon.

I started running to lose weight when I somehow gained 40 pounds and realized that I wanted to fit into my wedding dress. After losing the weight in not so healthy ways and gaining about 15 pounds of it back within two years, I decided to start running again. Just when I started to get serious about it, I found out I was pregnant. My sister, a doctor, advised me not to run while pregnant (looking back, I probably could have, but she didn't realize that I was running as much as I was). I walked and lifted the majority of my pregnancy. Two weeks after having my daughter, I began running again. I could barely run a minute straight at 5 mph. But, I stuck with it and two months after my daughter was born, I was able to run 4 miles at a clip in 40 minutes or under. I am addicted and have been more and more serious about running ever since. I completed a half marathon in September 2008 and am shooting for more half marathons before running a full one. I would love to see it happen by the time I turn 30, but am not sure that I will have the time to put in my long runs with a toddler, a husband and a full-time job. But, I am going to try my damnedest. I am not built for speed, but I am not out to set records either. Running is my outlet. I have never been passionate about much, other than my beautiful girl and loving husband. Running is a passion that I hope to keep as long as I am alive. I will run until I am no longer physically able to.
