I am not sure of the details, but I would like to learn more about this change. I do enjoy the challenges, and I am hoping that the random nature of the challenges does not make them less competitive. If they were to become completely random, than what would be the point? I like them the way they are, because they push me to run a little further because of my competitive nature.

I would be interested in joining this group. I would be grateful if you could post more information on this, perhaps including some examples of the prizes that can be won. I log lots of running miles every month, and I think I will be a top contender, so I am very excited about joining your group. Thank you.

I had this problem a while back. Nike had discontinued the shoes that I used to wear, and I tried another pair of their shoes which gave me Achilles problems. I got frustrated and went to several different shoe stores until finally I found a great pair that felt really good. I suggest you just think outside the box, and try on as many pairs of shoes as you can until you find a good pair that works for you.

Sounds great. I have some time off work in December for the holidays, so I think it would be a great time to raise the bar a bit. I'm not sure I will put out the numbers that Novembers leaders posted, but I bet I can considerably increase my own. Thanks for posting these challenges, it really makes my runs a lot more fun.
I was wondering if anyone heard of http://www.ultraankle.com, I am looking for a good ankle brace and I'm wondering if anyone has tried their products.

Hey Folks,

I ran in the Addiction 7 for many years with no injuries. The updated 8 didn't feel "right" to me, so I strayed and tried the Nike Structure Triax 12. Now I'm dealing with some Achilles Tendonitis (probably due to too much hill climbing on my favorite trail running loop). Any suggestions. I loved my Addiction 7s (ran in them since 2002). I want my 7s back! Help.

So I know Brad mentioned that a more random form of this prize/challenge forum would start after January, but does anyone know the exact details?

I'm sure that it was either a mistake or as you pointed out, maybe they were adding their previous milage to track it somewhere. Either way, we'll make sure we handle it appropriately when we calculate month end leaders.

OK, I might have been wrong at accusing runner100 of lying on her workouts until she said she did an ultramarathon, but now someone just posted a 1,000 mile run as 1 WORKOUT! Mile yearly mileage is 1,000 miles! Tell me I am not crazy this time because I don't think there is a 1,000 mile race.

Sounds great! I gotta find the time around Finals in December so I can beat my totals, but I lose the Rec Center in the middle of December. This could be tougher.

We'll be announcing the winners of the November Challenges shortly, although it looks like "Running339" has a solid lock on the Run Miles, and "coreball3" has a pretty solid lock on the Calories Burned and Hours Workout competitions, we want to make sure everyone has a chance to log their workouts from November before we calculate the final tallies.

Also note, we're drawing random prizes for people who logged a workout during each week, so even if you're not on the leader board, there's still a chance for you to win a great prize!

We'll be starting up the same challenges for December later today... and all members of the Brooks community will automatically be added to the December challenges.

Happy Fitness Everyone!
