The Stratford pool's 33m long, and they divide it up into three extra-wide lanes. They start a swimmer every 15 seconds from the left corner of the deep end, and you swim two laps of each of the lanes (i.e. 12 lengths in all). I've never done the Cheshire tri, but I can heartily recommend the Stratford Tri in May. It's the UK's biggest sprint race (~1500 entrants!), and has a huge buzz about it.
