Hi Brad...I found this forum trying to figure out how to delete widgets. I added one and it doesn't show up and it made the entire side bar blank, so I was trying to delete it by moving it from the sidebar to available widgets section to "put it back" and it keeps sliding back down to the sidebar section! Help?

thanks for clarifying... we will look at what it would take to make the window pop up in the view of where the window is scrolled.

Here's what I found: When you click on the "configure" button, the window opens up - but it opens up at the TOP of your browser window. Try clicking on the configure button and then scrolling up in your browser. I'll bet you find it there. It took me like 2 days to figure that out the first time.

hmm... sounds strange.

when you are looking at the configure window, you should be able to click in the "Countdown time" text area and type a date and time you want to count down to. Then you click the "X" in the corner and the window should go away. Then click SAVE and the widget will be saved.

If that doesn't work, can you tell us more about your browser? what version are you running?

Peter, we'll look into why you're map isn't showing up.

As for the upper case, the default theme (you're using) has always done "all caps" for sidebar titles... it's just how the theme looks. Notice all your other widgets look the same.

Brad - I just added the map as well and I'm not quite sure what I might have done wrong. I see the title for it, but no map. (By the way, when I typed in the Title I wanted to put in there, I typed it as "Where My Friends Train" and it is showing up as "WHERE MY FRIENDS TRAIN". I prefer not to yell out where my friends train. Just as an added note).

Check it out now, I think you'll like how it works now.

@lassie & @efranlje - we change it so it centers and zooms to fit all of your friends. Also, if your location is set as visible it puts you on the map with a red push pin.

@karl, it should work for your theme now, although it will make the widget the same height as the sidebar is wide, so, it's might be small on some themes.

Also, we added a map to the Brooks Run Happy Member list. Check it out, it's lots of fun!

Thanks for helping test this everybody, here's what I found:

efranlje - It does seem to be working... it shows 3 friends, and since the 4th friend doesn't have a location listed, it's correctly not showing them. It also centers the map over efranlje's location. So that's working.

LASSIE - It's not working for you because you don't have a location set for yourself. So the map is getting confused when it attempts to center the map.

Karl - I can't see what's happening, since you removed the widget.

Based on this, we have a couple small bugs to fix.

1) Make it do something logical when the current blog's user doesn't have a location set. (Lassie's will start to work after that).

2) Add a user configurable "zoom". Since as efranlje points out, you might want to start zoomed out.

3) Make it support the proper size window area depending on the theme.

I added it and it worked for me, but the map is really small. I had to zoom way out to see the country. I only found you and karl on sea because I had a reasonable idea where in the world to look. I love the idea, but the execution needs to be tweaked. Love to see the new ideas though!

We added a fun little widget tonight that lets you add a map of all your Sweat365 friends to your blog's sidebar.

It's in your Dashboard - Advanced Settings - Sidebar Widgets. And it's called "Map". It will display pushpins on a world map for all your friends.

If you've been using Sweat365 for a while, and you're bummed that you're "pie chart" widget no longer shows workouts from the distant past, then we've got a fun new feature for you.

The Logbook Chart Widget now supports showing your pie chart for arbitrary date ranges.

So, if you want to show the chart for your best month ever, or from 2 years ago, or since you started using the system, or whatever date range you can think of, you can set up the widget to do that.

Enjoy!

Someone recently asked me about how they could post a widget of the workouts they track with Sweat365 on some other blog.

Well, here's a quick explanation...

What are "off site widgets"? Well, they will let you place a widget on an external web page, blog, or your myspace or facebook profile that shows off your fitness progress.

To "Get A Widget" go to your Dashboard, Show Advanced Options, then choose Get A Widget from your Advanced Settings menu. On that page you can configure how you want your widget to look, and it'll build some simple HTML code that you can paste onto any web page. It doesn't require javascript of flash, so it will work even on web pages with strict security requirements. It updates automatically whenever you add a new workout.

You can also add the widget to your facebook account, by clicking the add to facebook link, and walking through a couple of steps on your facebook account.
