  1. Would anyone be interested in a free gardening lesson in Ballard on Saturday, June 30th or Sunday July 1st? I have a plethora of weeds in my garden that need eradicating, so now is the time to give a lesson! As well, I have a selection of perennials & some shrubs that could be divided & moved into your garden this fall.

In this session, I would teach you the best tools & practices for weed removal. At the same time, you could peruse my garden for perennials that you find attractive & make notes on them for a follow up fall lesson. You'll have a chance to pick my brain throughout the lesson. Depending on what's available/maturity/quantity/etc..., I might even let you cut a bouquet or harvest some vegies or berries to take home!

In the fall, I could follow up with a perennial division lesson. You would bring your list of favorites from our summer session. I would teach you best tools & techniques for dividing perennials. Together, we could divide your favorites for you to take home to your own garden.

In return for the free lessons, I'd ask you spend a little time putting your skills to work by helping me pull some of the weeds that we encounter. In the fall, I might ask you to help mulch over the beds where we divide/remove perennials for your garden.

Kids over age 5 are welcome to join us. I can teach them the joys of running piles of weeds to the compost bins for us. (Usually, when they learn this from me, they'll love doing the work for you at home!)
