Is it possible to have the Workout Logbook be able to accomodate more than one activity?

For instance - sometimes I strength train, then I run. In order to add that (so it goes in the great graphs!) I have to add both workouts seperately.

I'm not sure how that would work, or how you could do it, but it's just an idea to be able to combine workouts into one post.

Also, would it be possible to incorporate something like google earth or gps type posting? I use bimactive.com to draw my routes to get the exact mileage. I've used that site in the past to post the weather/topography/etc... as well for a run or bike ride. I know the jsrc.org has a link to a googlemap pedometer thing too. Just curious if that could be added and incorporated into the logbook/workout features.

Thanks! I know I've got too many ideas for you all, but I know over time this will become a very popular community & site!

  2. Please keep the suggestions coming, they are great and we appreciate them.

The suggestion for multiple workouts is on our list. Brad and our evil genius tech team are looking into the best way to handle it. Others have also asked for the same thing (triathletes ask for "bricks" - their fancy way of saying they want more than one activity in a workout).

I know others have also asked for google maps and gps type widgets as well. I guess that just means that great minds think alike...

    Thanks...

One other thing, I've tried posting a logbook workout and also writing a little blurb about it in the post. When I write the blurb, the logbook activity doesn't post with all the special run/workout info. I'd like that to post along with my blurb about the activity. Is that possible?

  4. Kate, YES this is possible.

    Here's how it works...

If you don't put anything in the Description area, then we just automatically show the logbook entry.

If you put something in the description, then we let you tell us whether or not you want the logbook to also show up. To tell us to put a "logbook stamp" somewhere in your blog entry, then click on the "Logboook Stamp" button in the rich text editor. It's the one that looks like a shoe/foot, next to the Image button (the tree).

If you are an HTML wizard and prefer to use the HTML editor, you can get the logbook stamp by inserting a <!--logbook--> in your HTML.

    It's that easy.

Now, if you really want to play around with some advanced formatting, you can also do the following. We've implemented "fields" much like you would see in your favorite word processor application like Word. These "fields" will allow you to place the individual logbook fields inside the text of your blog post. So if you want to for example include your mileage straight from your logbook you can also use the following text:
    {logbook-field:distance}

You can do this for pretty much any day info or activity logbook field.

That being said, it may be easier to just type "24 miles". :)

Anyway, let me know if you have any questions about the logbook stamp or fields.
