I have suddenly become intrigued by the sport of triathlon. I am a runner, swam for a few months when sidelined by injury. No biking experience. I don't know where this sudden fascination has come from or even what to do about it?!?! Any word from the experienced? I'm reading your blogs!

I'm a runner and a running coach. I've done some sprint distance triathlons. Swimming is the hardest part for me. That's why I've stuck to the sprint. Training for 3 sports helps keep you balanced. There is less impact on your body. Check out the training plans for triathlon in our library. I'm sure you can do it. Triathlons are a great challenge and a lot of fun!

I love triathlon... Personally I think the bike is the most enjoyable part, but I came to the sport from cycling.
My favorite part about triathlon is that everyone you meet in the sport is so supportive. It's a great community.

I'm a runner who is currently sidelined due to an achilles injury. I was intially very depressed but have found spinning and swimming. I'm actually thinking once my injuries are healed I'll start doing triathalons. Working towards that goal has been motivation and helped me get over my depression.

I've been doing some reading, and going to incorporate swimming and bycling into my workouts. I think the cross training will be beneficial whether or not I decide to do a triathlon. Just 2 obstacles-I need a bike, and I need a pool. :)

Do any of you know where to find training programs for beginners? I am just starting back to exercise after 6 months off for back surgery. I know I need to take it light at first. Any suggestions appreciated.

I'm doing my 1st triathlon this summer and just started training for it. I'm two weeks into training and LOVE it! I'm like some of you in that training for the tri is less stressful to the body since we are crosstraining. I even have tennis in the mix!
I'm prone to joint injury and have suffered tendonitis in my feet (sides and bottom). Weight training has REALLY helped me stay loose and injury free. Highly recommend it!
