  1. Hi, I am flat footed. Bathroom mats are what i have for feet. So, share your experiences with me... (i am training for triathlon)....

Suggestions on technique??? things to remember? ways to soften impact?

what footwear do you use? or any other strategies? do you find you need soft knee braces for stability?

about two months ago I bought a pair of salomons and i think they're holding me up okay. i have only run on the treadmill, though and not on solid ground.

  2. I am also flat footed. I wear Sauconys and have orthodics for my shoes (not professionally made ones) Make sure you stretch all the mucles in your legs, especially your ankles before and after your run. It's definitely rougher on your body once you hit the pavement so make sure you go at it slow. (My knees and ankles hurt all the time!!)

  3. go to a podiatrist and have them make you orthodics. make sure they make you stiff plastic/carbon ones or you will break them (esp if you are heavy and run real mileage).

w flat feet, you might also pronate, so look into a motion control shoe like brooks beast or brooks addiction. running store with a treadmill can help fit you.
