This one might be a stretch, but it could be kind of fun. I find most of my time spent on sweat365, (which is A LOT of time btw!) is spent clicking on friends to see if they've posted anything new since last I checked on them a couple of hours ago. Wouldn't it be nice if I just got an e-mail saying "brad just posted about (insert title of post here). If you'd like to check it click here:(insert link to brad.sweat365.com). Or something like that.
Does that make sense?
I dunno. Just a thought.
Thanks folks!

That's what RSS feeds are for. Subscribe to your friends' posts and they'll show up in your RSS reader, Google Reader, or whatever reader you choose.

Peter,
Magda has a good suggestion. RSS is certainly the way the techies (I bet she didn't realize she was such a techie!) would scratch the itch you have.
All of our blogs support RSS (Real Simple Syndication)... RSS is basically a simplified version of your blog (without all the fancy HTML graphics and such), and there are tools out there (like MyYahoo, Google Reader, FeedBurner) that you could use to manage a list of a whole bunch of RSS feeds.
The feed for your blog is: http://auggiesdad.sweat365.com/feed/
As for your feature request... I actually think it's a good one... there are many things that people may find easier to do in email that going to an outside app like google reader.
We have been thinking about how to make an automatic notice email that includes all kinds of things. We will probably add that as part of our plans to add "calendar reminders" as part of a structured training plan.
Stay tuned.

this is great info! Thanks! (learn something new everyday). Now I've got 2 My Yahoo pages..1 dedicated to my friends here and Tri news, and one is boring.
Thanks gang! Much appreciate it. (but still would like e-mail notification, that would be cool. but I can wait a little while longer for that).Posted 6 months ago #
