  1. I have been checking out a person's training log. What I've noticed is that they have workouts logged and showing up in their training log page, but it is not showing up on their home blog page. Thus, it isn't showing up in my RSS reader.

Just wondering if this is due to them not using the publish button and using only the save button?

  2. Yes... the behavior is that if they save it, it will be in the logbook, but not published as a blog post.

This is confusing in our current UI, in our next UI rollout, we've changed this a little to make it more clear when something is public vs. private... which will hopefully help the people who WANT to show their workouts in a blog/rss get there.

Of course, we also will always make sure people can make things private.

  3. So, is it or will it be possible to publish workouts such that they only appear on a Logbook page? Or is it such that if you publish the workout it will always show up on the blog homepage?

  4. Bernie - from what Brad has said and the behavior I'm seeing... if you only want it on the Logbook page - use "SAVE". Done, it will be on the Logbook page only.

  5. This is actually good news. I have a question for some of you out there:

If you were subscribed to someone's rss feed associated with their blog, would you want all of their workouts to come across the feed or just specific workouts that a person had something interesting to say about it?

Just wondering if I need to just use the "save" option more.

I know for the feeds that I subscribe to, I like to see the workouts come through?

  6. I guess it depends on the person, what your relationship is with them, and how they write content...

I've always been a big believer that people posting their workouts even if it's just the raw activity report is still content... and I've seen an evolution in many members of the site, where they started by just posting workouts, and then people gave them feedback, and they start posting more detailed posts sometimes...

I believe that if people never posted their workouts, this positive feedback loop wouldn't occur.

    That's just my opinion.

  7. Is it possible to have a separate RSS feed for the blog homepage and the logbook page? That would seem to provide the most flexibility. If someone's a coach they want to see all the details; and it's probably better that the details (i.e. logbook) is presented stripped of the "fluff". I can't imagine anyone but me wanting to look at the daily details of my training log but I don't consider them "private" (just irrelevant ;-). On the other hand, posts that might be of interest would quickly get buried if combined with the log entries.

  8. You can always get the feed of just a single category by doing: http://bhayden.sweat365.com/category/workout/feed/ this would limit your RSS feed to those workouts and/or posts categorized as "workout".

We automatically make all workouts categorized with the "activity type" so "run" or "swim"... but of course you could uncheck those if you're a power user.

  9. I sure hope the new interface roll out is going to include the ability to select and change/delete/modify multiple works/posts at one time. Going back through thousands one at a time (I'm approaching 3,000 on my import) would take forever. The category type has a lot of potential for analyzing and displaying content but it won't be terribly useful without an improved way to manage it.

  10. I was hoping to keep a joint blog with a friend so I added us both as administrators to one blog and now it is adding her training log stats to mine. How can we keep them separate?

  11. Legal Blondie,

I think the best thing to do in this case is to make a third blog that you two use as your "joint blog"... Send us email with the two email addresses or user names for each of you to support@sweat365.com and we can help you get it setup.

This isn't the behavior I see at all. I mark a workout as Private and Save. Then when I'm logged in I see all the workouts on my main page. If I'm not logged in of course they don't show (that part seems to work) but workouts never show up on my Logbook page. I have the logbook page template set to "Logbook Page". Is there something I'm missing?

    > make a third blog that you two use as your "joint blog"...

Looks like a cool start to a team blog.

  13. Bernie,

Can you give me an example of a workout that you did this for? Give me a date and title, and we will look into what's happening.

    Thanks.

  14. Private: 2×20 FTP Intervals on July 16th. This is currently showing up as the top entry on my Blog homepage when I'm logged in. If I go to my logbook page access by a tab in the header of my homepage) there is the initial "post" but no workouts show up.

This is consistent with all Workouts (Activities) and Daily Info. Marked as Private they all show up on my Main page when I'm logged in but never on my logbook page (logged in or not).

  15. Bernie,

The logbook now only shows reports if you select the report from your "Logbook Report" in the sidebar. If you click on Summary you will see that workout in the summary... you can also see it in table or chart view if you choose the "This week" or "This Month" reports.

I am seeing that workout when I go to your logbook.

Is this just a case of you not clicking the report?

Let me know if you're not seeing it when you choose one of the reports.

  16. And one more thing... you have to be logged in to see someones' logbook reports.

We changed this recently because we were seeing too much spam attempts on peoples logbook pages, and we didn't think people wanted spam on their logbook pages. :)

  17. I can see the reports on my logbook page but not the "post" that actually tells you what the ride was (i.e. interval length, wattage, etc.). All of the verbiage shows up on my main logbook page. It's hidden when I'm not logged in and they're marked as private but all the imported workouts aren't marked private and totally destroy the readability of the blog.

  18. Another great point Bernie.

Let me think about this some more... I now understand your point a little more clearly.
