  1. My first tri will be an open water swim at the beach. How do you deal with sandy feet going from the swim to the bike?

  2. I'm no expert but I always keep an extra water bottle to hose off my feet at my bike. I can't stand to have anything in my shoes either and take the extra time to get it clean. Good luck and stay hydrated!

  3. A water bottle works, but will take a bit of time.

I always keep a large tub with about 2-3" of water in it right in the transition area. Jump in it as you arrive in transition and stand in it while you put your helmet on, etc. Step out and the sand remains in the tub.

Then you can put socks on (if you wish), or just start running with your bike to the mount area.

    Have fun!

  4. I've heard of the water solution, and I attempted it once... but I have found that for me, using a towel to wipe off the sand is a little more effective.

That being said, I think this is a good example of something you should try and see what works for you.

You should PRACTICE your transitions... and this is a perfectly reasonable thing to try out to see if it works for you.

    Good LUCK!
