  1. I have seen this extra fee that applies to some events if your not a USAT member. Is it worth it to be a USAT member? Or should I just pay the $10 or so extra fee if I am not for the events that require it?

  2. depends on how many Tri's you'll do in a year, and/or whether or not you'd like to support the USAT. At first, I didn't join because I figured for the cost of the membership, and me only doing 2 races this year, it wasn't worth it. But then I decided I wanted to support the USAT so I joined.

  3. I've never been a member... but if you plan to do several races in the year you'll save money by becoming a member.

Most races use USAT as an insurance company in case something goes wrong... so your money is going to a "good cause" in so far as your favorite local race probably couldn't happen if it weren't for USAT.

  4. I know that here in Hawaii if you have to pay the 1 day pass then later on you decide to become a member as long as you still have your receipt you can put that money toward your membership fee. Maybe something to check into.
