  1. Does anyone else do interval training? How do you log your runs? My sister and I for a start are running 1mins. and walking 2mins for 2 miles. Then the warm up and cool down adds another .7miles. Would you log the running and walking separately? Any thoughts? Thanks! :D

  2. interval training is a shorter workout & its also just about the most intense workout on my calendar, so I always log it as a run.

I don't lose sleep over the fact that I walk/jog my recoveries.

  3. I agree with Dave on this...

Basically, I log that as a run... total time is the total time of the whole workout, including warmup, recovery, and cooldown. Total distance is the whol distance include warmup, work efforts, recovery, and cool down...

Now, I also record the actual workout and splits (sometimes)... but sometimes I just use shorthand... 10x800

  5. I do intervals for all my runs except for races...and even then, on longer races, I'll still mix in the intervals. I also log them as runs...

For me, I started with (when I first began running) 2 min run with a 4 min walk. Now, I find that 1/1's are the best for me. Today I did 1/1's on the treadmill for 7 miles...4.1-4.3 walks and 5.5-6.4 runs, alternating minutes. I find that it allows my legs to rest...preventing injury.
