  1. hi all,
have any of you had problems with your garmin 305? mine is almost a year old and the specific problem is it completely dying at completely random times. it has happened twice and appears to be after i’ve tried to charge it. it says it’s charging properly, then i take it off and try to turn it on only to have it go completely dead. then i put it on the charger and it still does nothing i.e. not charging. then if i let it sit for a while - like a day or two, it goes back to working properly. i haven’t tried a full reset or anything yet as i was hoping that the first time was an abherration.

  2. I have a Garmin 305 and have not yet had any problems. If I do or if I hear anything about the problem you're having, I'll let you know. Maybe you should try the hard reset, but don't forget to download your data using your PC first. Good luck!

  3. I am having the same problem as andreabona with Garmin Forerunner 305. I thought I had a full charge but when I go to turn the watch on the screen is blank. This is the second time this has happened to me. The screen remains blank when I try to recharge it with the wall plug or my Mac's USB port (I don't see the charging message on the watch's screen).

My watch is about two years old.

  4. some of the 305s (edge, for sure) have a faulty design where the power pickups are on one side of the plastic clamshell and the battery contacts are on the other side. The fix involves cracking the case and doing some light soldering. voids warranty. If anybody has a 305 that they don't want, let me know.
