What is a training log and why would I use one?

The short answer is we believe that recording your fitness journey is a great way to inspire yourself and others to achieve fitness goals.

The longer answer is: training logs can take many forms and serve many purposes. In general people use training logs to record their accomplishments, to track their progress, to hold themselves accountable, or to plan for achieving particular goals.

More advanced users will want to record important statistics about how much training they are doing for different activities, recording details about how they felt during an activity or during the day.

These details can be a useful record for planning for future events or working to assess weaknesses and areas of improvement with your support group, a personal trainer, or a coach.

In the unfortunate event that you have an injury, having a thorough training log can be a great help to you and your doctor in understanding how that injury might have occurred and what can be done to prevent future injuries.

Guidelines For Working Out During Pregnancy

June 7, 2008 by Lisa Sabin

A woman’s body goes through many changes during pregnancy. The most obvious are increased girth, posture and center of gravity. The hormonal changes such as increased levels of estrogen and progesterone cause the GI track to slow down so that a woman gains the appropriate amount of weight to sustain a fetus. Relaxin, causes muscle and connective tissue to soften and become more flexible. Proprioception may change as feet swell and posture compensates for the new distribution of weight.
